global talent mobility survey 2024: trends and insights for large relocation programs

I’m delighted to share a new survey report that reveals how companies with larger mobility programs (those who relocate more than 500 employees annually) manage their relocating workforce. The research examines questions such as: How can companies reduce mobility expenses? How much flexibility do they require in mobility? What are today’s key objectives and challenges? How popular are lump sums?

Data for this tailor-made report comes from our Global Talent Mobility Survey 2024 and provides you with valuable benchmarking intel and insights that will help you run your current program and plan for the future.

key findings

  • The top reason for increasing mobility activity was company growth (23%), which suggests a demand for entering new markets, attracting new customers, or introducing new products or services.
  • 73% of respondents with larger programs are considering a policy review, which is 11 percentage points above what was reported in the completed survey.
  • Among this group, 46% with core/flex programs reported that relocating employees chose their own flex benefits. This is twice as many as those with small-to-midsize mobility programs (companies relocating fewer than 100 employees annually).
  • 20% of respondents in this group identified themselves as “leaders in the DEI mobility space”, compared with only 12% from the overall survey.
