Recap: Cartus and Topia Partnered for the Americas Edition of the Distributed Workforce Solutions Webinar Series

On Wednesday, March 10, Cartus and Topia partnered to deliver the first of our Distributed Workforce Solutions Webinar Series – the Americas edition. Cartus’ Larry Ghirardo, VP and Business Owner of MovePro360SM, and Wendy Kosach, SVP, Relocation Accounting and International Compensation Services, were joined by Topia’s Anupam Singhal, SVP of Partnerships. The webinar introduced this new partnership and our automated, cloud-based compliance management solution, which is unique in the business travelers/distributed workforce space.

Anupam kicked off the session with an introduction to the compliance landscape surrounding today’s frequent business travelers and remote worker population which includes tax, immigration, social security and other key concerns.  He addressed how the pandemic has acted as a catalyst to increase the compliance risks that organizations now face both domestically and internationally with so many employees now working remotely and hybrid work situations likely to remain moving forward. According to Anupam, the ramifications for failing to address compliance issues can cost companies serious amounts of money and they must act accordingly. Adopting technology can help companies monitor and act upon risks before they become problematic.

Larry Ghirardo took us on a journey, exploring the corporate risk and duty of care, highlighting the importance of properly monitoring remote workers for companywide success. He pointed out that while the challenge of tracking frequent business travelers has been around for years, there is finally a solution that meets the needs of organizations across the globe. It not only offers a simple, automated technology, but it provides the service delivery to support the technology, made up of analytics, compliance warnings, and detailed reporting to assist the various business segments across the globe.

Finally, speaking on how to make the most of the synergy created through a Cartus/Topia partnership, Wendy Kosach, along with Anupam, shed light on the genesis of the partnership, and how organizations will benefit from this joint venture.

The panelists also worked in tandem to address:

  • Where compliance issues commonly occur
  • Key use cases and highlights of how the Cartus/Topia Compass solution works, including pre-travel assessments and payroll withholding
  • The benefits and value that Cartus’ service delivery model contributes to organizations
