“Rotational Policy” is an umbrella term often used to describe a short-term relocation program that supports key talent development. Our latest mobility research explores the key logistical considerations and strategic business priorities in providing these programs effectively and includes client profiles of companies using rotational moves today.

key findings

  • Over 45% of companies offer a different level of support for temporary training and rotational assignments compared to their permanent move programs.
  • Preparation support before the rotational assignment begins is offered by 25% of respondents.
  • For responding companies with US domestic policies, 40% had two or more one-way permanent moves, 30% included short-term assignments, and an additional 30% included long-term assignments.
  • Companies are recognizing employees’ requests for more language and cross-cultural support by adding these services to their policy, with current trends showing 25% of responding companies now provide language and cross-cultural coaching. We anticipate this percentage will continue to rise.
