the importance of ESG in mobility programs: insights from WERC india summit

At the recent Worldwide Employee Relocation Council (WERC) Regional Summit held in Bengaluru, India, Cartus joined almost 100 mobility professionals to share relocation trends and insights applicable to India and the region.

I had the opportunity to moderate a roundtable on how Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) affects mobility programs, one of the key topics discussed at the summit. The Cartus team and I had an engaging discussion with 42 regional delegates about ESG and its influence on their mobility programs.

Summit attendees enthusiastically shared their companies’ sustainability initiatives, such as planting a tree for every move, using electric vehicles for on-the-ground programs, and incentivizing train travel instead of using private cars.

Cartus has also implemented its own sustainable initiatives, such as the “discard and donate” policy, where assignees can donate furniture before a move to reduce the size and cost of household goods shipments and storage, while benefiting worthy charities.
