Impact on Expatriates Living in China<\/h3>From a national standpoint, the current vaccination drive\u00a0in China\u00a0is open to \u201cwork entities\u201d and\u00a0not individual residents, and guidelines do not distinguish between nationalities. However,\u00a0each\u00a0local health authority\u00a0may issue slightly different guidelines\u00a0regarding the vaccination of foreign nationals.\u00a0\u00a0\n\nOfficial vaccination registration for foreign residents is not available in most parts of China\u00a0except for those\u00a0who fall into a\u00a0priority\u00a0group. These\u00a0expatriates\u00a0will be\u00a0able to register for\u00a0the vaccine\u00a0through their employer\u00a0in\u00a0selected\u00a0cities.\u00a0For example,\u00a0expatriate\u00a0teachers working in universities in Shanghai have been vaccinated under the organization of the university.\u00a0\n\nHowever, health authorities in most of\u00a0China\u2019s\u00a0first-tier cities including Guangzhou, Beijing,\u00a0and Shenzhen\u00a0have\u00a0arranged\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0vaccination\u00a0of\u00a0key groups,\u00a0regardless\u00a0of nationality.\u00a0Here, we review how different areas of China are rolling out vaccination programs:\u00a0\n\nShanghai:<\/strong>\n\nResidents of Shanghai between the age of\u00a018 and 59 are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine,\u00a0and it is free.\u00a0\u00a0\n\nPermanent\u00a0residents with a need to travel abroad for personal reasons will be able to make appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations\u00a0at the 17 community health\u00a0centers\u00a0across the city.
